Rong Xiao, Ph.D.
President, Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Xiao is an expert in the field of protein biochemistry. He received a B.S. in Food Science and Engineering from Jiangnan University, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Microbiology from Gifu University and Hokkaido University, respectively. He was a Research Associate Professor at Rutgers in the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM), previously leading a protein production group in the Northeast Structural Genomics Consortium (NESG). He provided over 1000 high quality protein samples per year for NMR and X-ray crystallographic studies and antibody production. He is a co-author of nearly 1000 protein structures in the Protein Data Bank, and a co-author of more than 160 scientific publications.

Gaohua Liu, Ph.D.
Vice President, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Nanjing University. He brings over 20 years of experience in using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) methods for determination of three dimensional protein structures in biomedical research. Dr. Liu has been a leading member of the research groups of Ivano Bertini (University of Florance), Thomas Szyperski (SUNY-Buffalo), and Gaetano Montelione (Rutgers University). He has contributed to more than 100 NMR structures that have been deposited in the Protein Data Bank, and is an author on more than 59 scientific publications.

Gaetano T. Montelione, Ph.D.
Founder

Professor and Constellation Chair of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), he was a Distinguished Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He received a B.S. and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Cornell University. Dr. Montelione is also the recipient of numerous awards recognizing his scientific achievements including the Searle Scholar Award, the NSF Presidential Young Investigator Award, and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award. He is an executive member of the International Structural Genomics Organization and has been a consultant on NMR technology and structural biology at a number of pharmaceutical companies including Chiron, Eli Lilly, Novartis and Wyeth-Ayerst. He is the author of more than 330 publications covering research on triple resonance NMR, protein structure analysis, computational methods for automated analysis of NMR data, NMR methods for determining vicinal coupling constants in proteins, and the use of NMR and structural bioinformatics and functional genomics.
